    - awarded with the Giovanni Villani Award (it is given to one individual in the San Diego PGA Chapter). It is awarded for leadership and sportsmanship, golf ability, and responsibility.

  3. Attributes that will make me a good college student-athlete golfer:

I am very motivated academically and athletically. I have been able to balance a heavy schedule with golf and school. I have been doing it since before high school and therefore, have learned to manage my time wisely and effectively. I am efficient and detail oriented. I am goal-oriented and work best after setting a goal for myself. Over time, the continuity of goal-setting has helped me strive towards better grades and lower scores. Golf and school are the two most important pursuits, and I always manage to balance both.

  4. I will be a good college teammate because:

I will be a good college teammate because I have already proven that I am an effective teammate in competitive settings. I have always been a leader in almost every aspect of my life. Whether it be in a classroom working on a group project or on the golf course with my high school teammates, I am used to being in a leading position and am comfortable doing so. I am very supportive of my teammates because I am aware that the results and success of the team is not based on one person, it is a collective achievement. I am known to be trustworthy and honest. Although I maintain a healthy social life, I don't party and stay out late.

  5. I am looking for a university and golf program that:

I am looking for a university and golf program that is strong both academically and athletically. I am a motivated student and golf has always been part of my college dream. I am seeking a school and a golf program that allows me to thrive in both disciplines. Socially, I want the ability to be part of a spirited school by attending the occasional football, basketball, or water polo games and contributing to the student body.

  6. My college goals are:
My college goals are to be an accomplished student and respected golfer. I want to be an active and contributing member of a competitive team and be known not just for my ability to play great golf but also for my ability to lead and motivate my team. I want to grow as an individual and become more independent. I want to be able to take care of myself away from my home and make good decisions. Academically, I want to maintain my high marks and expand my knowledge.

  7. I am looking for a college golf coach that:
I am looking for a college coach that connects well with the players, one who is authoritative without being over bearing. I get along well with coaches and do best under the guidance of those who respect me as a golfer but who are not afraid to contribute constructive advice and guidance. I am known to be very coachable and am seeking a coach that can improve my game.  Lastly, I want a coach who appreciates the challenges of balancing academics and atheletics.
  8. The strengths of my golf game are:

The strengths of my golf game are focused around my ability to concentrate. I can concentrate on my golf game for long periods of time without requiring help or outside sources (i.e. breaks or other people).  I perform well under the pressure of match play tournaments and in general, often perform my best under high-pressure situations. A year ago, I switched to left handed putting because I am left eye dominant. Since I made the switch, my putting has continued to improve. Another strength of mine is my growing ability to diagnose problems that may come about in my golf swing. I am learning the science to my golf swing and green reading in hopes of lowering my scores.

  9. The weaknesses of my golf game are:
I have limited flexibilty in my hips and shoulders. I am now working with a TPI trainer to strenghten these areas and gain more flexibility and distance. Along with continuously improving my putting, I have begun to dedicate more time to my short game to limit the number of missed shots. I am still working on my shot selection and course management skills during practice rounds and tournaments.
  10. I think my golf game will continue to improve because:
I think my golf game will improve because for one, I enter many differenty types of tournaments to challenge my mental game. For example, the Mary Cave Cup, which is an annual girls' tournament, is a best-ball format with a partner. I also think that my golf game will improve because I am addicted to the game. I love the rush of hitting good shots and scoring well. I set very high yet attainable goals for myself and work hard to achieve them, which allowes me to strive to be the best player I can be.
Personal Statement

The best metaphorical description of my personality and my golf game is my left handed putting and right handed hitting because I am different. Since switching, I have developed more confidence in my stroke and ability to stick with something unconventional. I am often asked questions about it and receive strange looks on the first hole. Although, I have learned to love putting left handed and look forward to practicing it. I do not let big risks interfere with my ability and desire to shoot lower and be more consistent. I have the confidence to go along with a change like this, but the ability to recognize that it takes time. I am efficient, determined, and focused on my goals and dreams for this sport, the greatest game ever played.
